Griffins’ Gazette Extra

Every so often we at Ben and Liz incorporated have purpose to issue an extraordinary edition of the Griffin’s Gazette. Here is such an issue to let you know about an extraordinary event.

As you know, the day of our departure to foreign climes is fast approaching. We have set the date of Monday August 20th as the day on which we will say goodbye to Sandbach and “Ola!” to Bordeaux to begin our language study. In order that you are sure that we have gone we have organized a valedictory service and “Ivory Coast Experience” on Saturday 21st July. The idea is that you come along and spend some time imbibing the pleasures of everything Ivorian: music, culture, food, games and some activities for children to keep them entertained. After this informal time we will gather together and enjoy a time of being enthused and challenged by hearing from God’s word and hearing of his work in the Ivory Coast.

In traditional Griffin style we are announcing this event before asking anybody to speak at it, or having really organized the details. So all that we know so far is that it will be held at Wheelock Heath Baptist Church, near Sandbach (for those who AA routeplan the post code is CW11 4RJ)  on Saturday 21st July, beginning at 3:00pm, with the valedictory section beginning at 4:00pm, and aiming to finish around 6-ish. There will be a buffet tea provided.

May I take this opportunity to thank all those who have invited us to speak at their churches thus far. I have really enjoyed renewing friendships and seeing old friends again, whilst also meeting new congregations and seeing the Lord working in the most amazing ways. If you would like us to come and share our desire to work for the Lord in Ivory Coast with your church then please give send us an email (liz@jtgriffin.fsnet.co.uk) or morse code(….------….---.------…---).

Many thanks also to those who have taken our support forms from behind the clock on the mantel piece and filled them in and sent them off it’s a real encouragement to see the forms disappear from the exhibition table when I do my talks around the country.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 21st July, and look forward to a time of renewed fellowship and worshipping God together. All welcome.
